Frequently Asked Questions
Are you a licensed psychologist? Yes. I'm a licensed psychologist (Psy.D.) based in Boulder, Colorado, with over 25 years of clinical experience, and a Certified Depth Hypnosis Practitioner.
What states can I work with you from? In person, I see clients in Boulder, Colorado. Via telehealth, I'm authorized through PSYPACT to work with clients located in a number of other states — see the full list here. If you're outside of those states, I'm not able to treat you under my current license, but I'm glad to help you find a referral.
Do you accept insurance? I am an out-of-network provider. I don't bill insurance directly, but I provide a superbill you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. Check your plan's out-of-network mental health benefits before we begin.
What happens during the free 20-minute consultation? It's a relaxed, no-obligation phone or video conversation. You can ask questions about my approach, and I'll get an initial sense of what you're carrying and what you're looking for, so we can both decide if we're a good fit — there's no pressure to continue.
What is Depth Hypnosis? Depth Hypnosis is a therapeutic modality created by Isa Gucciardi that weaves together Buddhist psychology, shamanic principles, hypnotherapy, and transpersonal psychology with Western clinical practice. I use it alongside conventional talk therapy to work with patterns that haven't fully shifted through more traditional approaches.
Do you provide, prescribe, or administer plant medicine or psychedelics? No. I do not provide, prescribe, or facilitate the use of any plant medicine or psychedelic substance, and I don't administer anything during our sessions. My role is strictly preparation and integration: helping you get ready for an experience you pursue independently and legally through your own channels, and helping you process and make meaning of it afterward.
Is telehealth therapy confidential? Yes. Sessions are held over a HIPAA-compliant video platform, and the same confidentiality protections that apply in my office apply to our telehealth sessions.
I'm not sure this approach is right for me — what should I do? That's exactly what the free consultation is for. It's a no-pressure conversation to get a genuine sense of fit, with zero obligation to continue afterward.
